Community Consulting Space

As our institutions grapple with a shifting budgetary environment, many of us are being tasked with developing and/or implementing cost-saving changes in our programs. These changes can be challenging to manage, as they have the potential to affect the careful and considered work we do to support our students. How can we approach these changes in a values-based manner? How can we design and implement budgetary reduction while continuing to prioritize the needs of our students? And how can we best communicate budgetary decisions to our staff and/or students–even, and especially, if we are not the ones who made them?

This will be an informal conversation space that replicates the brainstorming, problem-solving, and support that take place when we seek insight from one another at FGLI Consortium convenings. Join us on Wednesday, April 22nd at 12 pm ET / 11 am CT, to help and be helped by your colleagues as we approach the change in fiscal year in a complex financial environment. Come with any and all budgetary challenges and get feedback from a community with shared values and goals.

We will offer two breakout rooms. One will be geared toward professionals who are responsible for determining budgetary priorities. The other will be focused on staff who are implementing budgetary changes determined by their leadership.

Feel free to come for both logistical and emotional support from our community!
