Rutgers’ drive to narrow the opportunity gap for first-generation and lower-income students puts its graduation rate for first-generation students at 73%, compared to an estimated 42% nationally based on six-year rates. Through high-impact scholarships, community college partnerships, and support services beginning as early as middle school, Rutgers offers a variety of pathways to degree completion while seeking to minimize student loan debt.
