RUTGERS University will HOST our 7th Annual FGLI Consortium Conference in New brunswick, nj
As the State University of New Jersey, Rutgers leads the way in national social mobility rankings with more than 17,000 first-generation students across its campuses. This long-standing commitment to ensuring all students can thrive makes the university a proud member of the FGLI Consortium. Rutgers’ drive to narrow the opportunity gap for first-generation and lower-income students puts its graduation rate for first-generation students at 73%, compared to an estimated 42% nationally based on six-year rates. Through high-impact scholarships, community college partnerships, and support services beginning as early as middle school, Rutgers offers a variety of pathways to degree completion while seeking to minimize student loan debt.
Rutgers is proud to become the first public institution to host the annual FGLI Consortium Conference this November. Taking place in vibrant downtown New Brunswick, the city offers a welcoming setting to learn and discuss innovative practices around the FGLI community. The breadth and impact on first‑generation education are amplified by the engagement of Rutgers' leadership from its three distinct campuses of Camden, Newark, and New Brunswick, all ranked among the top 50 U.S. public national universities, as well Rutgers Health, demonstrating to all a shared, universitywide dedication to strengthening access and success for first‑generation students.
